Veteran Nollywood actress Iretiola Doyle has opened up about why she chose to remain silent following her divorce from her ex-husband, Patrick Doyle.

Speaking during a recent interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown, Ireti made it clear that she never felt the need to publicly discuss the details of their separation.

According to her, the decision was intentional, as she believes that the general public is not entitled to such personal information.

When asked why both she and her ex-husband stayed quiet after the divorce and what the experience taught her, Ireti responded candidly:

“First of all, you didn’t hear anything because it was none of your business. The only people you owe any explanation, if at all, are the close family and friends who were there from the beginning. This larger audience you’re performing for — they really do not care.”

She went on to emphasize that when a marriage ends, the only people who deserve any form of explanation are loved ones who were part of the couple’s journey from the start.

Her response highlights her belief in maintaining privacy, even as a public figure, and not feeling pressured to share deeply personal matters with the public.
